INDUSTRY 4.0 SKILLS ARE NOW MORE ACCESSIBLE
DigiSmart4.0 is an innovative Erasmus+ KA210-VET project designed to strengthen digital and smart manufacturing competencies within vocational education. Today, manufacturing industries are rapidly transforming through Industry 4.0 technologies such as Digital Twin systems, IoT-based production environments, simulation platforms, and AI-driven processes. However, vocational education must evolve at the same pace to prepare students for this new industrial reality.
The project addresses the growing skills gap between traditional technical training and the demands of modern smart factories. By integrating Digital Twin technology and advanced simulation tools into VET curricula, DigiSmart4.0 enables students to experience real-world production environments in a more practical, interactive, and future-oriented way.
Through curriculum development, teacher training, and pilot implementation, students gain hands-on experience using industry-relevant tools such as Siemens NX, Ansys Twin Builder, and smart manufacturing platforms. At the same time, educators enhance their digital competencies to deliver high-quality, up-to-date training aligned with Industry 4.0 standards.
DigiSmart4.0 goes beyond knowledge transfer. It aims to build institutional capacity, foster transnational collaboration between Germany and Türkiye, and create sustainable training models that can be shared across vocational education systems.
All developed training modules, teaching materials, and pilot results will contribute to a modernized, digitally ready VET framework. By empowering vocational students with Digital Twin and smart production skills, DigiSmart4.0 supports the development of a competitive, future-ready workforce.
Preparing vocational learners today is the strongest step toward building the smart manufacturing ecosystems of tomorrow. With DigiSmart4.0, digital transformation in vocational education becomes practical, accessible, and sustainable.
