Siemens NX Training Successfully Completed Within the Erasmus+ Project

The Trainer Training and Professional Development Activity planned within the scope of the Erasmus+ project was successfully carried out between 27–29 April 2026.

As part of the activity, eight vocational teachers from Türkiye participated in a comprehensive three-day training program on Siemens NX, a software widely used in smart manufacturing technologies and digital transformation processes. The training sessions were delivered by expert trainers and supported through both theoretical and practical applications.

Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the fields of 3D design, product modeling, assembly planning, engineering analysis, simulation applications, and Digital Twin technologies. In addition, studies were conducted on the integration of digital technologies and modern production processes required by Industry 4.0 into educational environments.

At the end of the training, the teachers gained significant competencies in using Siemens NX effectively for planning, analyzing, and simulating design and production processes. It is expected that the knowledge and experience acquired during the activity will be transferred to classroom instruction and practical training activities, contributing to the professional development of students.

This activity, carried out within the Erasmus+ project, contributed to strengthening the professional competencies of teachers and represented an important step toward enhancing educational capacity in the fields of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing technologies.

The outcomes achieved through the project are expected to contribute to improving the quality of education and preparing students more effectively for the production technologies of the future.

Digital Curriculum and Technology Integration Studies Have Begun

Teachers Participated in Training Activities in Germany

A short-term mobility activity was carried out in Germany between March 16-18, 2026, with the participation of 5 teachers from Turkey.

Within the scope of this activity, participants learned about digital production technologies and also carried out studies on innovative teaching methods. The program contributed to the professional development of the teachers and provided them with the opportunity to gain international experience.

The mobility achieved significant gains in line with the project objectives.

Curriculum Development and Digital Studies Process

Within the scope of the second phase of the project, digital curriculum development studies have been initiated. Studies focusing especially on the integration of digital twin technology into educational processes are being carried out jointly by the project partners.

In this process, teacher training plans have been prepared, necessary technical analyses have been carried out, and important steps have been taken to improve the educational infrastructure.

As part of the project, technical visits were conducted in Germany to examine vocational education and industry cooperation on-site. During the visit to Ostwestfalen University of Applied Sciences, innovative training practices were observed. In addition, a technical visit to MicroStep company provided information about modern production processes and industrial applications. These visits contributed to the development of project outputs in line with sector needs.

The official kick-off meeting of the project was held at the TCR Training Center in Germany between February 5-7, 2026. All project partners participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the project objectives, work packages, task distribution, and implementation schedule were discussed in detail. In addition, a roadmap to be followed during the project process was created, ensuring strong coordination among the partners. This important meeting was a critical step for the systematic and planned progress of the project.

Project Partners Meet in Turkey

Project partners met face-to-face in Turkey as part of a transnational meeting held between January 19-21, 2026. During the meeting, the project partnership agreement was officially signed, strengthening the cooperation process. As part of the program, Taccettin Aslan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School was visited, and the school’s technical infrastructure and educational capacity were examined on-site. This visit allowed for important evaluations regarding the project’s implementation process.

Digital and Smart Manufacturing Skills Project Launched

Project Launch and Preliminary Coordination Meeting (Online)

The first step of the “Digital and Smart Manufacturing Skills for Industry 4.0 in Vocational Education” project was taken with an online meeting held on December 23, 2025. The meeting, attended by project partners from Turkey and Germany, addressed the project objectives, collaboration structure, and overall implementation strategy. Initial assessments regarding the division of tasks among partners were made during the meeting, and a shared vision was established regarding the project’s core objectives. This meeting ensured a strong start to the project process and laid an important foundation for future activities.

DigiSmart4.0 Project Officially Launched with Kick-Off Meeting

The DigiSmart4.0 project has officially started with a successful kick-off meeting bringing together partners from Germany and Türkiye. The meeting marked the beginning of an exciting 12-month collaboration focused on strengthening Digital Twin and smart manufacturing skills within vocational education.

As an Erasmus+ KA210-VET Small-Scale Partnership, DigiSmart4.0 aims to modernize VET curricula by integrating Industry 4.0 technologies such as Digital Twin systems, smart production environments, and simulation-based learning tools into vocational training.

Setting the Foundation for Collaboration

During the kick-off meeting, representatives from:

came together to define the project roadmap, clarify responsibilities, and establish communication and quality assurance mechanisms.

• Teacher training activities

• Pilot implementation planning

• Dissemination and visibility strategy

• Timeline and milestone alignment

The meeting ensured that all partners share a common understanding of the project’s goals and implementation strategy.

Strengthening Digital Readiness in VET

The partners emphasized the growing importance of Industry 4.0 competencies in vocational education. As manufacturing environments rapidly evolve through automation, IoT systems, and AI-supported production, vocational students must be equipped with practical digital skills that reflect real industrial conditions.

DigiSmart4.0 addresses this need by developing an innovative, practice-oriented training module that integrates simulation tools such as Siemens NX and Ansys Twin Builder into classroom settings.

A Strong Start for a Sustainable Impact

The kick-off meeting also highlighted the importance of sustainability beyond the project duration. Partners agreed on establishing a structured evaluation process and ensuring that all developed materials remain accessible for continued use and adaptation.

With a clear roadmap and strong institutional commitment, DigiSmart4.0 has officially begun its journey toward enhancing Digital Twin integration in vocational education.
